Homemade mayonnaise mustard powder: what ingredients are needed
To prepare delicious homemade mayonnaise, you need the following products:
- egg – 1 pc;
- Dijon mustard – 1 tablespoon;
- red or white wine vinegar – 1 tablespoon;
- salt – ¼ teaspoon;
- sunflower oil – 240 ml;
- freshly squeezed lemon juice – 1 teaspoon.
Preparation
To prepare delicious homemade mayonnaise, you will need a food processor. First of all, you should break one egg in the bowl and thoroughly beat it for 20 seconds. Next, add mustard, vinegar and salt. Continue to whisk everything for another 20 seconds.
Without turning off the combine, start slowly pouring in the sunflower oil in very small portions. The mixture will begin to thicken and emulsify. At the same time, keep pouring in the oil without increasing or decreasing the speed of the food processor.
When you have poured in all the oil, keep the food processor running for another 20 seconds. At the end, add lemon juice and, if needed, salt and vinegar for flavor. Be sure to taste the mayonnaise before you use it.
If the consistency is not thick enough, you can add a few more drops of oil and beat everything well with a mixer.
