Making mayonnaise at home is much easier than it may seem at first glance. In addition to the fact that the ready-made sauce will turn out very tasty, so it will be much healthier than store-bought. It can be easily added to salads, appetizers, smeared on sandwiches and used for other dishes. And the preparation of homemade mayonnaise itself will take you no more than 10 minutes.
Mayonnaise at home: ingredients
To prepare mayonnaise at home and in just 10 minutes, you will need the following set of products:
- 1 large egg yolk;
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice;
- 1 cup of odorless oil;
- ΒΌ teaspoon of salt.
Homemade mayonnaise: stages of preparation
The first thing to start with is to take a sufficiently deep bowl, place the egg yolk there and add lemon juice. Next, it is necessary to whip everything very well with a whisk or a mixer until foam is formed.
Take the oil and start pouring it into the yolk mixture in a very thin stream. In doing so, you need to keep whipping continuously until all the butter is used.
Once you have added all the butter, whisk the mixture for another 10-20 seconds and then stir in the salt. Gently taste the finished mayonnaise and, if necessary, add a little more salt to your liking.
The homemade mayonnaise is ready! You can immediately enjoy its wonderful flavor or let it stand for a while, having previously transferred the homemade mayonnaise in a container and sent to the refrigerator for a few hours.
