A great treat for a festive Easter table π₯πΈπΊ and a great way to please your loved ones. Very sugar buns recipe with sugar in the form of a rabbit π° on sour cream yeast dough with vanilla and orange flavor. They will impress anyone with their unique aroma and taste.

- 2.5 tsp. Dry yeast
- 100 ml Water (warm)
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1 tbsp flour
Dough:
- 540 g Flour (wheat flour, highest grade)
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 0.5 tbsp sugar
- 1 pcs Vanilla sugar (10 g.)
- 80 g Butter
- 110 g Sour cream 20%
- 2 pcs Egg
- 2 pcs Orange zest
To grease before baking:
- 1 pc Egg
- For sprinkling mix sugar and cinnamon.
Instructions
How to prepare sugar buns with yeast dough
- Pour yeast, sugar, flour into warm water – mix and leave for about 15-20 minutes so that a frothy cap appears.
- Beat the eggs, granulated sugar, vanilla and salt into a bowl and stir with a whisk. Pour in melted butter at room temperature, sour cream, grated orange zest (only the top orange layer) – mix everything up.
- Pour the flour into a large bowl, pour in the egg and sour cream mixture and the yeast opara, knead a soft dough. Cover the container with a lid, set aside to rise twice in a warm place, about 1.5-2 hours.
- Divide the finished dough into 16-18 pieces, cover the dough with a napkin to prevent it from getting floured.
- From each piece, pinch off a small piece of dough for the rabbit's tail, and from the larger one, roll out a bundle. Form the bunnies – form a loop from the bundle by twisting the two opposite ends of the bundle, this will be the torso. Roll a small piece of dough into a ball and put it in the middle of the loop – this will be the tail.
- Place the formed buns 3-4 cm apart on a baking tray lined with baking paper, cover with a kitchen towel and leave to proof for 20 minutes. Just before baking, brush with egg and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
- Bake in a heated oven to 180 degrees Celsius, 15-20 minutes until browned. We get such appetizing buns with sugar, yeast dough is very tender and soft, like Fluff, and orange-vanilla notes give a sense of holiday! Such buns will decorate any festive table and will please your kids!
