In our region, tangerines are associated with the New Year’s atmosphere and winter holidays. Many drinks are made based on them, and tangerine slices are added to various desserts, dishes, and sauces. One such seasonal bright recipe is tangerine mint tea.
Tangerine tea recipe
To prepare this aromatic tea drink, you will need:
- 400 ml of purified water;
- 1 cinnamon stick;
- 5 dried cloves;
- 3 allspice berries;
- 1 tangerine;
- 1 teaspoon of dried mint;
- 1 teaspoon of dried lemon balm;
- Sugar or honey to taste.
Preparation Process
Prepare all the ingredients and a saucepan. You can crush the cinnamon stick to release more flavor. Wash and peel the tangerine, keeping the peel.
Place the saucepan with water on the heat, add the cloves, allspice, and cinnamon. Bring the mixture to a boil and simmer the spices for 4-5 minutes to let them infuse.
Turn off the heat and add the tangerine peel, lemon balm, and mint to the spiced water. Cover and let it steep for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, squeeze the tangerine juice and mix it with the tea.
You can add sugar or honey to the mixture or serve it separately. Feel free to adjust the spices to your tasteāfor example, you can add star anise, anise, nutmeg, or simply change the proportions as you prefer.
