Thick Hot Chocolate Recipe
List of Necessary Ingredients
To make four servings of hot chocolate, you’ll need:
- Milk of any fat content, but the richer, the tastier – 800 ml;
- Dark chocolate (at least 50% cocoa) – 200 grams;
- Cornstarch – 1 tablespoon.
Preparation Sequence
In a saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat to about 40 degrees Celsius. Pour a cup of warm milk into a separate container and dissolve the cornstarch in it. Continue heating the remaining milk to around 80 degrees Celsius.
Break or chop the chocolate into small pieces and add to the hot milk. Continue to heat the saucepan, stirring continuously until the chocolate is completely melted.
Slowly pour the milk with dissolved cornstarch into the hot milk and chocolate mixture, and continue heating until the chocolate mixture thickens. If you prefer a thinner hot chocolate, use half the amount of cornstarch.
The hot chocolate is ready. If desired, enrich the dessert drink with whipped cream, and sprinkle with nuts and marshmallows.
