Hot chocolate can be successfully made with plant-based milk. This treat is suitable for anyone who avoids animal products and can also be beneficial for those who are lactose intolerant. The delicious taste of the drink can be further enriched with chopped nuts such as walnuts, hazelnuts, or almonds.
List of Necessary Ingredients
To make two servings of hot chocolate, you will need:
- 500 ml of plant-based milk (coconut, almond, buckwheat, oat, or any other);
- 3 tablespoons of high-quality cocoa powder;
- Half a packet of vanilla sugar;
- Half a tablespoon of cornstarch;
- 4 teaspoons of granulated sugar;
- Aerosol whipped cream;
- 2 tablespoons of chopped nuts.
Preparation Sequence
Pour the milk into a saucepan and heat it to 40 degrees. Separate 100 ml from the total amount and dissolve the cornstarch in it until there are no lumps.
Heat the main portion of the milk to 70 degrees, add the cocoa powder, regular and vanilla sugar, and mix well.
Then, in a thin stream, pour the milk with the cornstarch into the saucepan and continue heating, stirring constantly, until the chocolate thickens.
Pour the hot chocolate into cups, top with whipped cream, and sprinkle with nuts. Done!
