- How to make a beetroot salad with garlic and mayonnaise? Prepare all the necessary products. To make the salad completely homemade, and therefore healthier, you can make your own mayonnaise at home.
- To make the salad, the most important step is to boil the beets themselves. You need to boil them for about 1-1.5 hours, depending on their size, until they are ready. This time I decided to bake the beets. To do this, wash each root vegetable under running water with a brush, dry it with paper towels, wrap it in foil, and put it in an oven preheated to 180-190°C. Bake the beets for about 50-60 minutes. Then take it out of the oven, unwrap it, and cool it.
- Peel the cooled beets and rinse them in cold water, then pat dry. Then grate each root vegetable on a coarse grater and put it in a salad bowl. If desired, cut the beets into thin strips or small squares.
- Peel the garlic cloves and put them through a press. You can also chop the garlic on a fine grater or with a knife. Add the chopped garlic to the salad bowl with the beets. Choose the amount of garlic to add to the salad individually, as one clove will be a lot for some, and five cloves will be not enough for others. Therefore, add one clove at first, mix, taste, and add more if necessary.
- Add mayonnaise to the salad. How much mayonnaise to add? The beetroot salad is juicy and you don’t need to add a lot of mayonnaise. But whoever likes it, I have seen people who like to pour mayonnaise over the salad. In addition, when I add mayonnaise, I no longer put salt in the salad. But if you think that the salad is not salty enough, you can add more salt to taste.
- Mix the salad well, cool it slightly and serve it to the table. Garnish with chopped parsley or dill. It is a great dinner accompaniment to many dishes. Enjoy!
